The Aliens are a species of characters that appear in Rick Grimes 2000, Small Bites, and Solid Blood universes.
The aliens are the primary antagonistic force that serve as catalyst for the events within the non-canon Rick Grimes 2000 universe. They are the cause for the zombie apocalypse and the fall of human civilization. They also have their own highly-advanced army.
Little is known about their Solid Blood iteration; however, they appear to join the heroes of the story.
Overview
Rick Grimes 2000
Not much is known about the aliens, except they come from an unknown planet where they use water as a currency. They eventually came to earth to harvest the water, but for unknown reasons, they caused the dead to reanimate and kill the living. The aliens' motivations for ruining human civilization remains unknown.
When they return to earth after half a year, they engage in war with the remaining humans, enslaving them to harvest water for them or turning them into super-soldiers for their army.
In "Chapter 5", Rick Grimes leads the Freedom Fighters to battle against the aliens, which ends with the aliens being killed, however Rick still believes the aliens will return someday and trains everyday to prepare for them.
Technology
The Aliens have highly advanced technology, weaponry, and equipment. They have access to battle ships which shoot lasers and laser swords. They are also seen flying on hover boards. The aliens also appear to have armored suits and the technology to replace missing limbs with robotic weapons. They somehow have technology which can bring dead humans back to life as zombies or super-soldiers.
Form Change

As revealed in "Chapter 2", aliens have the ability to change into a more larger and vicious form.
Robot Chicken
In The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special, the aliens bear a resemble to sentient baseball bats. They live on a planet that was destroyed by a star that entered a supernova stage.
Small Bites
The aliens in Small Bites are very much identical to their portrayal in Rick Grimes 2000. They are shown to be psychotic, as they are shown reminiscing about their annual "Culling of the Weakest Offspring" and it's stated they've destroyed inhabitable planet in the solar system. It's also revealed they originate from the planet Kolob. However, all of this is revealed to be a story fabricated by Shiva for fun.
Solid Blood
Not much is known about the aliens in this series aside that they can be spawned from an individual who could possibly have Solid Blood abilities. It's also likely that they age at an accelerated rate.

Trivia
- Robert Kirkman was only able to get The Walking Dead green-lit because he told Image Comics there would be a plot twist revealing that the zombie apocalypse was caused by aliens who were using the zombies to weaken humanity's defenses. This was a lie, but ended up coming into fruition through a non-canon ending in the Comic Series.[1]
- The aliens reanimating the dead is similar to the plot of Plan 9 From Outer Space.
- In The Walking Dead: Onslaught, a message on the wall in "Roads Less Traveled" says "Aliens brought it". This is likely a reference to this.
- Coincidentally, there was another black and white zombie comic also titled The Walking Dead that was published in 1989 by Jim Somerville, where aliens were responsible for the rise of the undead.
