Asyl, (German Translation: Asylum), also commonly referred to as The Town, and part of it formerly known as The Cruise Ship and The Ship, is a location that appears in The Walking Dead: All-Stars.

Pre-Apocalypse

Little is known about Asyl aside from the fact that it is located near Buffalo, New York and at the edge of Lake Ontario.

Post-Apocalypse

Asyl was set up as a temporary safe-zone several miles north of the Buffalo city limits by the government when the apocalypse began. However with the combination of the situation not getting any better, a cruise ship having docked nearby, and several survivors looking for refuge, it was decided to keep this location as a safe-zone. Gunther came up with the name.

Asyl eventually expanded to the point where they were able to incorporate the office building that Sarah, which is located inside of Buffalo, New York. Over time, they managed to set up several outposts around the surrounding area.

Due to the growing number of undead and the lack of available resources, they entered a war against The Raiders and ultimately won.

At some point, they came into contact with the Grand Island Community, Blaine's Mansion, Alexandria Safe-Zone, Hilltop Colony, The Kingdom, and The Commonwealth and started a trading partnership between each other. Specifically, with the communities based out of both Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Fort Erie, they created the Western New York Alliance where the main goal was to reclaim the cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls; however, their efforts would continuously be challenged by the remaining Raiders who refused to join the alliance.
